Question 1

Does it work in the Jersey War Tunnels?

Accepted Answer

Signal can weaken deep inside the tunnels and comes back once you're out.

Question 2

Will it work walking the north coast?

Accepted Answer

Mostly yes, though some steep bays and coves have weaker signal.

Question 3

Which network does the Jersey eSIM use?

Accepted Answer

It connects via JT (5G).

Question 4

When does my Jersey plan start?

Accepted Answer

Once you arrive in Jersey and turn on your eSIM - not at checkout, and not when you install it. So it's fine to buy and install it weeks ahead; it'll sit there untouched until you land.

Question 5

How early can I buy my Jersey eSIM?

Accepted Answer

Up to 180 days before you go. Get it done the day you book flights, then install it whenever you're ready - just make sure that's within 180 days of buying, since an eSIM that's never installed or connected expires after that.

Question 6

When will my eSIM work in Jersey?

Accepted Answer

The QR code is emailed within about a minute of paying. Install it over Wi-Fi before you fly and it's ready to go as soon as you arrive in Jersey.

Question 7

Can I keep my own number in Jersey?

Accepted Answer

Yes - this eSIM is data only, it doesn't handle calls or texts. Your normal SIM stays in your phone for that, but for actually chatting overseas we'd recommend WhatsApp, Messenger, FaceTime or similar over the eSIM's data instead - usually far cheaper than your home carrier's international rates. Still want calls or texts on your normal line? Just switch off its data roaming, not the line itself, so your carrier can't sting you for data. Don't need calls or texts at all while you're away? Turn that line's roaming off completely instead.

Question 8

What if I run out of data in Jersey?

Accepted Answer

No dramas - your confirmation email has a link to top up the eSIM you've already got installed, no new QR code needed. Lost that email? Email support@sweetassim.co.nz and we'll send your top-up link again - or just buy a fresh eSIM for the same destination if that's easier.

Question 9

Why isn't the Jersey eSIM unlimited?

Accepted Answer

Because "unlimited" usually isn't. Plenty of eSIMs advertise unlimited data, then quietly throttle your speed once you cross a hidden fair-use limit buried in the fine print. We'd rather give you an honest GB number than one that sounds bigger and slows down exactly when you need it - full network speed for every gigabyte, no hidden cap, no slowdown.

Question 10

My Jersey trip's running longer than my plan - can I extend it?

Accepted Answer

Yes - top up before your current plan's window ends and you're not just adding data, you're adding time. Each top-up pack comes with its own validity (its own number of days) on top of its own data, so it extends how long you're connected on the same eSIM rather than just topping up the GB. The one catch is timing: it has to happen before your existing plan expires, since an already-expired eSIM can't be topped up (see above) - so if you know a trip's likely to run long, top up a few days before your plan's window is due to end rather than waiting until the last moment.

Question 11

Can I top up an eSIM that's already expired?

Accepted Answer

No - once an eSIM's validity window has ended, it can't be topped up any more. Buy a fresh eSIM for the same destination to keep going.

Question 12

Do unused days roll over?

Accepted Answer

No. Each plan runs out at the end of its window, so if you're not sure how much you need, start small and buy again.
